John has dedicated his practice to helping victims who have been injured through no fault of their own. Over John’s career, he has recovered multiple millions of dollars for his clients through trial, mediation, and settlement. John has been able to maximize his client’s recoveries through hard work, dedication, and pursuing creative and novel legal theories.
John has a varied personal injury practice that ranges from commercial and motor vehicle collisions, dram shop liability, third-party and co-employee claims, construction and premises liability, insurance bad faith, prescription errors, and products liability, to catastrophic injury and wrongful death. John practices primarily in Alabama but also handles cases across the southeast. He enjoys the fact that every one of his cases is unique and presents new challenges and issues to overcome. John also enjoys holding insurance companies accountable to their insureds. He prides himself on his attention to detail and diligence. John looks forward to fighting for his clients to get them just and fair compensation that they deserve. He knows that every case starts with his clients and that is why he makes it a point to proactively communicate with his clients on a regular basis.
John is a Texas native who has called Alabama home for the past twenty years. John graduated from Auburn University with a major in Economics and a minor in Political Science. After college, John graduated from Cumberland Law School. While at Cumberland, John was actively involved in Cumberland’s nationally ranked trial advocacy program, both in trial and appellate advocacy, and was selected to be a 4-time advocate on Cumberland’s national trial team. John also was a scholar of merit and multiple time Dean’s List recipient. John also excelled at legal writing. He was awarded the best appellate brief, was a member and editor of the American Journal Advocacy and has been published multiple times. John joined Hollis Wright straight from law school and has exclusively represented injured victims throughout his career.
When not practicing law, John enjoys playing golf, being on the lake, and spending time with his family. John is married to the former Jessica Brookshire, a native of Atlanta, who also is an accomplished attorney in her own right. John and Jessica have two kids, Emmy and Jack. John and his family attend Trinity United Methodist Church and reside in the Rocky Ridge area of Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
